Backend Engineer (TypeScript)

What you will do

• Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure backend services that solve customer problems.
• Collaborate with Product Managers on problem discovery, solution design, and product roadmap decisions.
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and improvements smoothly.
• Improve team output by enhancing functionality, addressing technical debt, and strengthening collaboration and communication.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience building backend systems in fast-paced environments.
• Proficiency in backend development with TypeScript or another strongly typed language.
• Experience with SQL databases and NestJS or similar frameworks such as Spring Boot.
• Strong understanding of system design, scalability, and performance tuning.
• Passion for technology, entrepreneurial mindset, strong problem-solving skills, communication skills, and a strong work ethic.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, highly regulated industries, or document processing.

Hiring process

• First interview with the People team for 30 minutes.
• Hiring Manager interview for 60 minutes covering product-focused culture, collaboration, ownership, self-awareness, and quality standards.
• Technical interview for 60 minutes with two engineers, followed by a final 45-minute conversation with the VP of Engineering.
