Director - Cyber Operations (Cybersecurity)

Location: Fully remote, candidates must be based anywhere in Australia

What you will do

• Lead APAC cyber threat intelligence, SOC, incident response, and detection engineering functions.
• Act as Incident Commander during major cybersecurity events.
• Manage daily operations, workloads, service levels, and team scheduling.
• Coach team members and support technical and career development.
• Present cyber risks and insights to executives and business stakeholders.
• Set quarterly objectives, allocate resources, monitor KPIs, and collaborate on security tooling and integrations.

Requirements

• Typically 8+ years of cybersecurity experience and 5+ years in leadership, or equivalent experience, education, and certifications.
• Experience with SOC operations, incident response, threat intelligence, and/or detection engineering.
• Knowledge of SIEM, EDR, NDR, cloud environments, MITRE ATT&CK, NIST CSF, and ISO 27001.
• Ability to make clear decisions under pressure and communicate complex security issues effectively.
• Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, OSCP, or Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect Expert are valued.
