Senior Staff Engineer - Data Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain complex data transformations using SQL and dbt in production environments.
• Build dbt models, materializations, incremental models, macros, tests, snapshots, seeds, and sources.
• Maintain documentation, data lineage, packages, and data quality frameworks.
• Work with cloud data platforms including Snowflake, Databricks, Google BigQuery, or Amazon Redshift.
• Use Claude Code and/or GitHub Copilot for implementation, refactoring, test generation, and code review.
• Integrate AI into developer workflows, CI processes, automation tooling, code generation, and documentation pipelines.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or related fields.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with dbt in production environments.
• Strong SQL skills and experience developing complex data transformations.
• Strong understanding of dbt Core and/or dbt Cloud, including models, materializations, tests, snapshots, seeds, sources, packages, documentation, and lineage.
• Strong experience with at least one cloud data platform: Snowflake, Databricks, Google BigQuery, or Amazon Redshift.
• Understanding of LLM fundamentals, AI-assisted development practices, prompting, code verification, security and intellectual-property guardrails, and AI tooling evaluation.
