Data Governance Lead (Fintech)

Location: Toronto, Canada; flexible hybrid work model. Eligibility to work for hirify.global Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity is required.

Salary: CAD 120,000–140,000 per year, plus eligibility for a short-term incentive plan.

What you will do

• Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and operating practices.
• Establish performance and risk indicators and report on program maturity, compliance, data quality, and governance effectiveness.
• Oversee metadata management, data lineage, and data catalog capabilities for critical data assets and AI/ML models.
• Drive data quality initiatives, including controls, issue monitoring, root cause analysis, and remediation.
• Lead data retention and lifecycle management in line with legal, regulatory, privacy, and risk requirements.
• Partner with analytics, technology, legal, risk, compliance, and business stakeholders while mentoring junior team members and supporting governance adoption.

Requirements

• University degree in business administration, engineering, information management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, risk, or compliance, with increasing responsibility.
• Hands-on experience with data governance or metadata management tools such as Alation, DQLabs, Cyera, or Collibra.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, communication, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Eligibility to work for hirify.global Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.
