TL;DR
Cybersecurity Analyst (Penetration Testing): Conducting internal and external penetration tests of applications and systems with an accent on web application, API, network, and emerging-technology security. Focus on identifying vulnerabilities, developing ethical-hacking tools, assessing remediation, and producing actionable security reports.

Location: US - Austin, TX; at least 3 days per week in the office

Salary: $110,700–$171,800 USD per year, with potential bonus and equity eligibility

What you will do

  • Conduct high-risk internal and external penetration tests of globally hosted applications and systems.
  • Perform end-to-end testing of web applications, APIs, networks, and complex systems.
  • Research vulnerabilities, assess severity, and recommend countermeasures and mitigating controls.
  • Review remediation efforts and prepare accurate reports on findings and security effectiveness.
  • Develop and automate scripts, tools, and resources for ethical hacking across mobile, cloud, and embedded technologies.
  • Mentor junior penetration testers and contribute to security research and information-security guidance.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Professional experience in information security, specifically penetration testing.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language, such as Perl, Python, or shell scripting.
  • Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language, such as Java, C, C++, or Ruby.
  • Understanding of cryptographic concepts and applied cryptography, including SSL and AES.
  • Ability to work from the Austin, Texas office at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of OWASP Top 10, SANS Top 25, CVSSv3.0/3.1, exploit development, and vulnerability research.
  • Experience with web application, API, and network penetration testing.
  • Understanding of OSI and TCP stacks, networking protocols, HTTP, DHCP, DNS, FTP, Ethernet, LAN, and WAN environments.
  • Familiarity with Burp Suite Professional, Nmap, Nessus, and Kali.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, operational, and client-service skills.
