Sr/Staff Cybersecurity Engineer (Remote - US)

Location: Remote within the contiguous 48 states of the United States; up to 20% travel to Fort Worth, Texas, for in-person meetings.

Salary: $165,000–$300,000 base annually, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls across network, infrastructure, data, and application layers.
• Perform risk assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments, and support remediation.
• Develop security tooling and automation for threat detection, response, and reporting.
• Embed security into CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments, containerized deployments, applications, APIs, and microservices.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents in collaboration with SOC and incident response teams.
• Support NIST and SOX compliance, threat modeling, red/blue team exercises, and security playbooks.

Requirements

• Current authorization to work in the United States is required.
• At least 6 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or related roles.
• Proficiency in Python or Java for automation, scripting, and tool development.
• Experience with penetration testing tools such as Burp Suite, Metasploit, and Nmap.
• Knowledge of network security protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, Zero Trust, encryption, DLP, and access controls.
• Experience with SOC workflows, SIEM platforms, incident response, cloud infrastructure, and hybrid environments.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field.
• OSCP, CEH, CISSP, or GIAC certification.
• Experience with SASE, ZTNA, and contributions to open-source security tools or research.
