What you will do
- Evaluate AI tools and large language models for engineering challenges across the software development life cycle.
- Design, script, deploy, and optimize custom AI harnesses, internal chatbots, wrapper APIs, and integrations.
- Implement the Model Context Protocol to connect AI models with internal and enterprise data sources.
- Monitor enterprise AI usage, including API costs, latency, performance, and effectiveness.
- Educate engineering teams on prompt writing and effective use of AI tools in daily workflows.
- Track developments in the AI landscape and bring relevant innovations into the organization.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of the software development life cycle and how to augment it with AI.
- Deep architectural understanding of AI models from providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and open-source ecosystems.
- Strong scripting and programming skills in Python and Bash.
- Experience building and deploying custom AI harnesses, chatbots, and wrapper APIs.
- Familiarity with the Model Context Protocol and experience implementing telemetry and monitoring for AI usage.
- Knowledge of model strengths, weaknesses, context-window limitations, API costs, latency, and effectiveness measurement.
Nice to have
- Experience rolling out and managing enterprise AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or Claude.
- Experience with AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex.
- Knowledge of data privacy and security practices for sending enterprise data to external AI providers.
