Part-Time Primary Care Paramedic

Location: Chatham, Ontario, and the Municipality of Chatham-Kent, Canada. On-site ambulance service work across stations, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Salary: CAD $39.48–$44.28 per hour.

What you will do

• Respond to requests for paramedic services and provide medical care to patients experiencing accidents or illness.
• Ensure safe transportation of patients to receiving medical facilities.
• Assist with ongoing patient care within medical facilities when required.
• Maintain ambulance vehicles, medical equipment, and stations.
• Support patient safety, workplace safety, and other operational duties assigned by the Operations Manager or Supervisor.

Requirements

• Certified Primary Care Paramedic and graduate of an approved college paramedic program accredited by the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities.
• Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant (A-EMCA) Certificate, or eligibility to write the A-EMCA examination at the earliest opportunity.
• Valid Ontario Class F driver's licence or an equivalent licence recognized by the Ministry of Transportation.
• Current CPR certification at the Health Care Provider level and successful completion of required base hospital certification.
• Ability to perform physically demanding duties, including bending, crouching, lifting, walking on uneven ground, and working in high-stress and unpredictable situations.
• Personal transportation is required for reporting to stations in Chatham-Kent.

Nice to have

• Autonomous PCP IV Therapy certification, or willingness to complete the Southwestern Ontario Base Hospital Program PCP Autonomous IV Therapy course.
