Data Analyst Intern- TX (Energy)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports covering energy consumption, outage metrics, and performance indicators.
• Perform exploratory data analysis and statistical modeling to identify customer usage patterns, forecast peak demand, and support predictive maintenance.
• Collaborate with operations, customer service, and engineering teams to gather requirements, clean data, and deliver analytical solutions.
• Support ad-hoc reporting, data quality validation, and automation of routine analytics processes using Excel and related tools.
• Document findings, prepare presentations, and communicate insights to stakeholders and leadership.

Requirements

• Current junior-level student or higher as of Fall 2027, enrolled in an ABET-accredited college or university.
• Pursuing a degree in science, business analytics, computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, electrical or industrial engineering with a strong analytics focus, information systems, or management information systems.
• Available to work full-time during the summer, up to 40 hours per week, and commute to the designated location in person.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and data-handling skills.

Nice to have

• Strong proficiency in Power BI.
• Experience or coursework with Databricks.
• Knowledge of energy or utility operations, statistics, machine learning fundamentals, or GIS tools.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
