TL;DR
Software Verification & Validation Engineer (Autonomous Vehicles) (Python/Simulation): Designing quantitative safety and comfort metrics and building simulation test suites for autonomous vehicle perception, prediction, motion planning, and control modules with an accent on failure-mode analysis, statistical validation, and automated regression testing. What you will do

  • Define and implement quantitative safety and comfort metrics for perception, prediction, motion planning, and control modules.
  • Translate operational design domains and failure modes into objective, automatable criteria.
  • Build and maintain open-loop and closed-loop simulation test suites for release testing, edge cases, and performance benchmarking.
  • Analyze simulation outputs, distinguish software regressions from simulation artifacts, and identify root causes.
  • Develop Python automation for test execution, data ingestion, and statistical reporting.
  • Integrate regression suites into Jenkins and other CI/CD pipelines while enforcing reproducible testing and artifact hygiene.

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of autonomous vehicle stack architecture, including perception, prediction, motion planning, and control.
  • 2+ years of experience authoring scenarios and executing tests in Software-in-the-Loop or Hardware-in-the-Loop simulation platforms.
  • Experience defining and evaluating kinematic and spatial metrics such as TTC, headway, jerk, acceleration profiles, and lateral error.
  • Strong Python skills for data processing, test automation, and test framework development.
  • Experience with automated build and test pipelines such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions, hirify.global test-metric visualization tools.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, robotics, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related technical discipline.

Nice to have

  • Experience with OpenDRIVE, Lanelet2, OSM, OpenSCENARIO, or spatial and geometry data pipelines.
  • Knowledge of computational geometry, including polyline sampling, curvature, offsets, and polygon intersections.
  • Experience with simulators such as CARLA.
  • Proficiency with SQL and relational databases for bulk test-result queries.
  • Exposure to crash databases, Euro NCAP, ISO 26262, or ISO 21448 SOTIF.
