Sr. Manager, Clinical Science (Diagnostics)

Location: Remote within the United States; associated with Vista, USA

Salary: $170,000–$190,000 annual base salary, plus bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Oversee the scientific planning and design of global clinical studies across diagnostic and medical device programs.
• Ensure the scientific rigor and accuracy of clinical protocols, case report forms, study reports, and related documentation.
• Partner with R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, Quality Assurance, Data Management, Clinical Operations, and Commercial teams.
• Support regulatory submissions and agency interactions through scientific expertise and interpretation of clinical study data.
• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of clinical scientists.
• Manage clinical data analysis and guide research publications, presentations, and internal reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Healthcare, or a related field with 12+ years of clinical research experience, or a Master’s or Doctoral degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Significant experience with clinical trials for products intended for the US and/or EU markets.
• 4+ years of direct leadership experience, including management of clinical research scientists.
• Deep knowledge of clinical study design and methodology in diagnostics, medical devices, or pharmaceuticals.
• Ability to solve complex clinical trial and scientific interpretation issues and critically review clinical data.
• Excellent written, verbal, leadership, and interpersonal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience designing studies for in vitro diagnostic technologies, especially digital pathology, immunohistochemistry, and in situ hybridization.
• Advanced degree in Science, Healthcare, Regulatory Affairs, or Clinical Affairs.
• Professional clinical research certification such as SoCRA or ACRP.
