What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines connecting MES, ERP, SCADA, LabVIEW, IoT, and other operational systems.
- Own the Operations data warehouse, including data models, schemas, performance, reliability, and availability.
- Build scalable ETL/ELT processes and publish trusted datasets for dashboards, reporting, analytics, and business intelligence.
- Implement time-series data ingestion, storage, retention, and analytics for manufacturing and test systems.
- Automate data transformation, validation, monitoring, documentation, and system integration using SQL and Python.
- Support data governance, lineage, metadata, access control, cybersecurity, digital transformation, and advanced analytics initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, engineering, data engineering, data analytics, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting production data solutions in manufacturing, engineering, industrial, or similarly complex operational environments.
- Proficiency with SQL Server, relational database design, data modeling, stored procedures, query optimization, and schema development.
- Experience developing ETL/ELT solutions and data pipelines, plus proficiency with Python or a similar scripting language.
- Understanding of data governance, metadata, lineage, cybersecurity, documentation, statistical analysis, machine learning concepts, or predictive modeling.
- Ability to work on-site in Pittsburgh and meet frequent physical demands, including standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
Nice to have
- Experience with Azure Data Factory or similar integration tools and data warehouse environments.
- Experience with manufacturing and time-series data, MES, ERP, SCADA, LabVIEW, IoT, Kepware, OPC-UA, historians, or streaming architectures.
- Experience with SSRS, Power BI, Grafana, Tableau, or similar reporting and visualization platforms.
- Experience in FDA-regulated, medical device, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Project management experience and familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or Agile/Scrum methodologies.
