Security Associate - SOC

Location: In-office in Pittsburgh, PA; Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; Cleveland, OH; or Birmingham, AL. Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm EST; the role also supports a 24/7 SOC environment.

Base salary: $63,750-$116,875 per year; incentive eligible.

What you will do

• Review security alerts and logs to determine true positives and support potential tuning.
• Use security tools to scope and investigate security events and incidents.
• Perform incident response, mitigation, data loss prevention, and data manipulation investigations.
• Execute security tasks, document findings, define controls, and address risks and vulnerabilities.
• Conduct security assessments and information security routines with supervision.
• Advise clients, security administrators, and network operations on less complex security procedures and products.

Requirements

• University or college degree, typically a bachelor's degree, and 2+ years of relevant professional experience; a comparable combination of education, job-specific certifications, and experience, including military service, may substitute for the degree.
• Knowledge of security operations, incident response, and incident mitigation.
• Experience reviewing alerts to identify true positives and suggest tuning opportunities.
• Ability to use security tools to scope and review investigations.
• Knowledge of information security, network security, physical security, access control, IPS/IDS, SIEM tools, security technologies, and risk assessments.
• Analytical thinking, effective communication, problem solving, information assurance, information security management, IT systems management, and software security assurance.
• Ability to support 24/7 SOC operations in an enterprise environment.
• No required certifications, licenses, or language assessments.
