TL;DR
Director, Americas Store Planning and Construction (Retail Construction): Directing the planning and construction of Coach stores, renovations, relocations, temporary stores, and enhancements across the Americas with an accent on portfolio delivery, feasibility budgeting, cost control, and construction quality. Focus on leading multi-country project teams, managing contractors and vendors, aligning schedules and budgets, and resolving complex site, permitting, compliance, and execution risks.
Location: New York, New York, USA; hybrid work
Salary: $150,000–$175,000 base pay

What you will do
- Lead, coach, and develop the Coach construction delivery team across the United States, Canada, South America, Wholesale, and Travel Retail.
- Direct the planning and construction of new stores, renovations, relocations, temporary stores, and store enhancements from project handoff through opening and physical completion.
- Set portfolio priorities and align project delivery with PMO schedules, milestone governance, opening requirements, and operational standards.
- Oversee construction progress, quality, safety, permits, code compliance, landlord requirements, contractors, architects, and vendors.
- Lead feasibility budgeting, scope control, value engineering, change management, and execution-risk mitigation within approved budgets.
- Partner with PMO, Commercial Construction, Purchasing, Architecture, Operations, Finance, and other functions to deliver projects and complete closeout.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 12+ years of progressively responsible experience in retail architecture and construction across multiple countries and business channels.
- Experience leading Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, or comparable professionals and managing large, dynamic construction portfolios.
- Experience with feasibility development, cost and execution-risk evaluation, PMO schedule governance, and budget controls.
- Working knowledge of construction safety, permitting, code compliance, landlord requirements, and contractor performance management.
- Strong communication, organization, time management, collaboration, coaching, and leadership skills.
Nice to have
- Experience managing large-scale retail portfolios across Retail, Outlet, Wholesale, and Travel Retail channels.
