Python Developer with AWS AgentCore, Agent Gateway

What you will do

• Develop Python backend services for agent-to-agent communication flows.
• Implement and maintain REST API endpoints, routing logic, and asynchronous integrations.
• Integrate AWS AgentCore Runtime and Gateway features, including Agent Card registration and target configuration.
• Build A2A agent invocation flows using caller and target template integration.
• Implement JSON-RPC 2.0 protocol wire formats, SSE task lifecycle events, and push notification flows.
• Author Agent Card JSON schemas and implement the /.well-known/agent.json endpoint.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Python or Go backend engineering.
• Experience with API integration, routing, REST API implementation, and endpoint maintenance.
• Experience with agent-based or microservice communication patterns.
• Understanding of asynchronous and event-driven architectures, including SSE and webhooks.
• Experience with Python asynchronous programming, the AgentCore SDK, AWS AgentCore Runtime, and AWS AgentCore Gateway.
• Understanding of A2A invocation patterns, JSON-RPC 2.0, SSE task lifecycle events, push notifications, Agent Card schemas, and the /.well-known/agent.json endpoint.

• AWS AgentCore Gateway template integration validation.
• AWS Bedrock multi-agent invocation patterns.
• SSE event streaming for task lifecycle events and push notifications.
• OpenTelemetry trace propagation across A2A agent hops, including ADOT.
