Information Security Engineer Intern

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands; office attendance required twice a week

What you will do

• Support the security engineering team in maintaining and fine-tuning MDR alerts and monitoring DNS security events.
• Monitor security alerts and system health across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
• Create and update technical playbooks, network diagrams, and engineering standards.
• Execute simulated phishing campaigns, develop realistic scenarios, analyze click rates, and support security awareness activities.
• Research emerging security threats and technologies to improve defensive capabilities.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related technical field.
• Demonstrable interest in technical cybersecurity through CTFs, home labs, certifications, or similar experience.
• Understanding of networking, including TCP/IP, operating systems such as macOS and Windows, and cloud fundamentals.
• Basic proficiency in at least one scripting language; PowerShell or Bash is advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving skills, an analytical mindset, and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent spoken and written English is required.
