Compliance Specialist (Gaming)

hirify.global is an independent gaming studio developing One State, a social roleplay game.

What you will do

• Monitor gaming, consumer protection, age-rating, platform, data protection, and open-source licensing compliance across relevant jurisdictions.
• Review and update Terms of Service, EULAs, Privacy Policies, in-game purchase terms, and internal compliance policies.
• Provide pre-judicial and judicial support for cases involving cheaters, hackers, botters, RMT operators, account theft, DDoS extortion, and other bad actors.
• Draft cease-and-desist letters, DMCA and IP takedown notices, evidence packages, incident documentation, and witness statements.
• Coordinate with external counsel, law enforcement, anti-cheat vendors, cybersecurity teams, and technical departments.
• Advise Product and Live Ops teams on legal risks related to features, monetization mechanics, and events.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Law and a Master’s degree, LL.M., or equivalent.
• 5–8 years of professional legal experience, preferably as in-house counsel in IT or game development.
• 2–5+ years of compliance or regulatory experience, ideally in gaming, technology, or digital entertainment.
• Experience with gaming legal issues, including loot boxes, virtual goods, EULAs, age ratings, and Apple and Google platform policies.
• Working knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, EU directives and regulations, and open-source licensing obligations.
• Fluent Russian and English required. Strong drafting, analytical, collaboration, discretion, and confidential matter management skills are expected.

Nice to have

• Bar admission, depending on jurisdiction.
• Experience with IP enforcement, cybercrime-related matters, anti-fraud or anti-cheat cooperation, and law enforcement or regulatory bodies.
• Additional language skills.
