Desktop Support Specialist

Location: Sydney, Australia, with on-site support responsibilities and flexible work-from-home options

Independent Australian animation studio producing original long-form animated shows for YouTube.

What you will do

• Provide first-line technical support for artists and staff, troubleshooting hardware and software issues on-site and as part of the global support team.
• Repair and maintain office hardware, AV equipment, meeting technology, and studio workstations.
• Install and troubleshoot creative software suites including Maya, Unreal, Toon Boom, Unity, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Microsoft Office.
• Manage Active Directory user accounts and Group Policies, Google Enterprise users and data, Perforce, and staff cybersecurity protections.
• Deploy network monitoring tools, assess infrastructure improvements, and document network faults, resolutions, maintenance, and technical procedures.
• Maintain hardware and software inventories and user-facing helpdesk documentation.

Requirements

• Experience supporting artist tools such as Unreal, Unity, Adobe Creative Cloud, Maya, and Toon Boom.
• Knowledge of security technologies including ESET, Fortigate, Kerberos, and TLS.
• Knowledge of networking technologies including DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, and SMB.
• Experience with AWS and Windows Server.
• Knowledge of virtualization and infrastructure tools including Hyper-V, Proxmox, KVM, Docker, Fleet, Salt, or Puppet.
• Ability to provide on-site support in Sydney, Australia.

• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, stakeholder management, and time management skills.
• Understanding of or experience with arts, animation, gaming, or internet culture.
