E & I Supervising Engineer (Oil & Gas, Power and Utilities)

What you will do

• Plan, execute, and report inspections and tests for electrical and instrumentation systems across manufacturing, installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning.
• Review PQPs, ITPs, datasheets, C&E matrices, vendor procedures, and inspection readiness.
• Inspect LV/MV switchgear, MCCs, transformers, UPS systems, drives, lighting, cables, earthing, instrumentation, control valves, and telecoms systems.
• Witness FAT/SAT, relay protection tests, transformer tests, calibration, loop checks, C&E testing, and SIS/ESD/F&G functional tests.
• Verify hazardous-area, Ex equipment, ATEX, IECEx, and local electrical standards compliance.
• Prepare inspection plans, reports, NCRs, punch lists, MDR/MRB/ITR documentation, and release notes while coordinating with clients, EPCs, OEMs, and TPIs.

Requirements

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 8 years of E&I inspection or commissioning experience, including 3 or more years as a TPI or client representative on EPC/EPCM projects in Oil & Gas, Power, or Utilities.
• Training and practical experience with Omicron or Doble relay test sets, primary and secondary injection, and LV/MV cable testing.
• Hands-on experience with FAT/SAT witnessing, protection testing, transformer tests, earthing tests, loop checks, C&E testing, and SIS/F&G functional tests.
• Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17020, ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, IEC electrical installation standards, IEC 60079, IECEx/ATEX, IEC 61508/61511, and related engineering codes.
• Strong impartial judgment, concise reporting, stakeholder management, conflict resolution, inspection systems, and Microsoft Office skills.

Nice to have

• Grid interface and IEC 61850 experience.
• Custody-transfer metering, analyzer systems, AMPP/NACE CIP, thermography, SIL lifecycle, supplier audits, or root-cause analysis experience.
