Senior Software Engineer, AI Agentic Experience (Auth0)

Location: San Francisco, California; hybrid work arrangement

Annual base salary: $159,000–$239,000 USD for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay Area

What you will do

• Design and build developer tooling for securing and managing infrastructure such as MCP servers.
• Build demo applications showcasing secure, identity-powered AI use cases.
• Create adapters, utilities, and interfaces for AI frameworks, agent runtimes, and orchestration layers.
• Contribute to open source projects and maintain API references, quickstarts, best practices, and AI-native documentation.
• Collaborate with design, product, and security teams on developer needs, roadmap direction, and compliance requirements.
• Mentor engineers, lead architecture discussions, and ensure resilience and security in agent-to-agent and model-to-service communication.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building tools, frameworks, or platforms for developers.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Golang, and/or Python, with the ability to work across frontend and backend contexts.
• Experience with LLM APIs, agent runtimes, orchestration layers, or prompt pipelines.
• Knowledge of authentication and authorization systems, including OAuth2, OIDC, and JWT.
• Experience leading architecture and design for scalable, production-grade systems.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and contribute to open source projects and developer communities.

Nice to have

• Experience with React, Next.js, FastAPI, model APIs, prompt management systems, agent toolkits, or the Auth0 Stack.
