Securities Lending Software Engineer, Associate/Vice President (Java)

Location: Hong Kong, Hong Kong; office-based role

What you will do

• Design, develop, review, test, and implement scalable applications for the Securities Lending business.
• Build systems for inventory and risk management, client P&L calculation, and internal and external trading flows.
• Develop across all tiers of business-facing systems in a global technology team working closely with traders and operations users.
• Re-engineer and automate trading flows to support scale, transparency, control, and connectivity to electronic venues.
• Gather requirements from end users and provide high-quality production support.
• Apply effective development practices across the full project lifecycle in an agile environment.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of Java experience and preferably 3 years of database experience.
• Experience with stream processing, scalable high-performance software, test-driven development, and full project lifecycle delivery.
• Experience providing production support to demanding users and gathering requirements through end-user interaction.
• Solid communication, presentation, multitasking, and self-management skills.
• Knowledge of Java, Kafka, Kafka Streams, Spring Boot, databases, React, and TypeScript.
• Ability to work with front-office traders, middle-office operations, and back-office users.

Nice to have

• Full-stack development experience.
• Familiarity with Gradle, Maven, Git, Spring, Kubernetes, and cloud technologies.
• Knowledge of finance, securities lending, or equities.
• Experience acting as a technical lead or managing a small project team.
• Experience building and operating resilient, scalable systems.
