Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Machining (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Assess manufacturing and testing feasibility with component design engineering teams.
• Own a family of complex mechanisms and develop testing and validation procedures.
• Generate, evaluate, and defend manufacturing and design solutions based on vehicle attributes, cost, and weight.
• Develop process documentation, build instructions, validation procedures, health and safety standards, and manufacturing bills of materials.
• Create production plans, schedules, tooling, and equipment, and support new supplier development.
• Drive design for manufacturing, introduce new products and capabilities, and resolve manufacturing issues and non-conformances.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing engineering, or another technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanisms manufacturing, testing, and validation.
• Experience with operations or product line management and demonstrated direct or indirect leadership.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software; NX is preferred.
• Experience selecting, procuring, implementing, and validating manufacturing equipment.
• The role may require access to classified information, restricted U.S. Government sites, and export-controlled information, subject to applicable authorization and eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with mechanisms design, testing, and validation in high-volume production environments.
• Experience with aerospace mechanism qualification and acceptance testing.
• Experience with capacity modeling, process mapping, Lean/Six Sigma, and value stream mapping.
• Experience transitioning development processes to rate production.
