Senior Cybersecurity Analyst (Defense)

Location: Torrance, California; full-time onsite presence required

What you will do

• Lead 24/7 security monitoring using SIEM platforms and advanced threat detection tools.
• Analyze security events, investigate threats, and coordinate incident response activities.
• Perform threat hunting, malware analysis, adversary behavior analysis, and forensic investigations involving sensitive systems.
• Identify vulnerabilities, recommend remediation strategies, and maintain security tools including IDS/IPS, EDR, DLP, and vulnerability scanners.
• Support secure architecture reviews and compliance with defense-sector requirements.
• Coordinate with IT, engineering, manufacturing, and program teams while mentoring junior analysts.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or related technical security roles.
• Hands-on experience with security operations, incident response, threat analysis, vulnerability management, and security protocols.
• Expertise with SIEM platforms such as Splunk, QRadar, or Sentinel; EDR tools such as CrowdStrike or Carbon Black; and IDS/IPS.
• Strong knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK, network protocols, Windows, Linux, cloud environments, threat intelligence, OSINT, and scripting or automation.
• Experience protecting Controlled Unclassified Information and working in aerospace, defense, government contracting, or highly regulated technical environments.
• U.S. Person status is required, and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with defense manufacturing, operational technology, industrial control systems, embedded systems, avionics, autonomous systems, or weapon systems.
• Experience implementing SIEM and SOAR operations.
• Experience with CMMC 2.0, NIST SP 800-171, DFARS, ITAR, and related defense compliance requirements.
• Security certifications such as Security+, CEH, CISA, or GIAC, and a relevant degree.
• Experience at a high-growth startup or scaling organization.
