Design Engineer Mechanical - Energy Conversion (CAD): Designing and optimizing tailored compressor, dryer, and accessory solutions with an accent on technical alternatives, detailed drawings, component selection, and design safety. Focus on risk analysis, production support, supplier collaboration, and standardizing compressor designs across the Global Engineering team.

Location: Hybrid role based in Wilrijk, Antwerp, Belgium, with regular on-site work

What you will do

  • Translate customer needs into tailored compressor, dryer, and accessory solutions.
  • Develop and evaluate technical alternatives, identify risks, and select effective project solutions.
  • Create and modify technical drawings and parts lists, write procedures, and perform design risk analyses.
  • Support technicians during production, resolve technical issues, and validate peer work.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, purchasing, competence carriers, and internal teams.
  • Support quotations by translating specifications into machine requirements, selecting components, and contributing to standardized compressor designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
  • Knowledge of CAD systems, including Inventor or AutoCAD, and ENOVIA.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Affinity for mechanical design and product optimization.
  • Initiative, problem-solving mindset, and team spirit.
  • On-the-job training is available, and partial alignment with the profile is welcomed.
