Senior Technical Program Manager II (EO/IR Space Systems)

Location: Tucson, Arizona, United States; onsite role. U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements and ITAR-controlled technology.

What you will do

• Manage multiple technical contracts and programs, including cost, schedule, staffing, risk, and technical performance.
• Identify risks, create contingency and recovery plans, resolve issues, and track financial impacts.
• Lead engineering teams through test planning, test execution, and resolution of operational and technical issues.
• Lead customer meetings, program reviews, technical interchange meetings, and cross-functional communications.
• Develop and track Integrated Master Schedules and manage Earned Value Management metrics when required.
• Mentor junior technical staff and support proposal and Engineering Change Proposal efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or a technical discipline.
• 8+ years of experience managing technical projects for the U.S. Government.
• Experience leading teams to complete program and project milestones.
• Hands-on expertise with active optical systems and experience with space EO payloads, test plans, astronomy, physics, electronics, software, or remote sensing.
• Active Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility and U.S. citizenship required.

Nice to have

• Current SSBI clearance.
• Experience with MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler.
• Familiarity with environmental testing of flight hardware, configuration management, and systems engineering documentation.
• Knowledge of astronomy, physics, imaging systems, or remote sensing.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, or optics-related research or internships.
