QA Manager - Merchant - FY27

Location: Cape Town, South Africa. Remote working is available, with the option to work fully remotely, from the office, or in a hybrid model.

What you will do

• Lead and provide strategic oversight to multiple QA teams across products and stakeholders.
• Build coordinated QA strategies, scalable testing processes, and integrated automation roadmaps with engineering leadership.
• Expand UI and service-based test automation, code coverage, regression testing, and reusable test data practices.
• Oversee test planning, execution, defect tracking, production feedback, and quality reporting across the SDLC.
• Identify testing gaps and coordinate their resolution with automation engineers, engineers, QA analysts, and product teams.
• Recruit, mentor, and coach QA professionals and engineers while contributing to the QA Community of Practice.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of software QA experience, including 2 years in QA management; candidates without the specified degree require 8 years of software QA management experience, including 4 years in QA management.
• Experience managing QA across multiple teams and designing scalable QA processes and strategies.
• Experience with SDLC testing, including unit, API, performance, system, glassbox, and behavior-based testing.
• Proficiency in SQL and scripting, with experience using Jenkins or other CI/CD applications, configuration management, and version control.
• Experience with Playwright and integration testing tools built in Python and Kotlin.
