Software Engineer - Test Automation (Automotive)

Location: Bangalore, India; hybrid work with a minimum of three in-office days per week. Domestic and international travel may be required.

What you will do

• Develop automation frameworks and testing strategies for automotive telematics platforms.
• Validate APIs, complete systems, and software components through manual and automated testing.
• Develop and maintain Python test scripts and automation tools.
• Review software specifications, create test cases, write test reports, and maintain testing documentation.
• Analyze logs, traces, and network traffic while supporting test validation reviews and project synchronization.
• Provide technical and architectural support for automotive testing frameworks.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Test Automation Engineer in the automotive industry.
• Experience with white-box or grey-box software testing and Linux environments, including virtual machines.
• Networking knowledge covering TCP/IP, packet capture, NAT, bridging, and P2P.
• Experience with data analysis, logs, tracing, and tools such as Wireshark.
• Knowledge of hardware setups, telematics or infotainment systems, eCall, power modes, CAN, diagnostics, cybersecurity, and ECU flashing.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills are required.

Nice to have

• ISTQB certification and knowledge of the A-SPICE automotive testing standard.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related IT field.
• Programming or scripting experience with Python, C#, or Perl.
• Knowledge of virtual test environments.
