Major Projects Engineering Intern (Power Engineering)

Location: 100% in-person at assigned project sites in the Sherco area near Becker, Minnesota; Elk Creek Solar near Menomonie, Wisconsin; or Lyon County Gas Project near Garvin, Minnesota. Candidates must live within commuting distance or be able to relocate for several months.

Salary: $23.10–$24.60 per hour

What you will do

• Support construction oversight, planning, field inspections, and safety observations.
• Help verify that projects are built according to applicable engineering codes and standards.
• Learn and document drawing updates and field engineering changes during active projects.
• Assist with project documentation, metrics tracking, and reporting.
• Support vendor outreach and coordination and develop professional project relationships.

Requirements

• Current college student at junior level or higher.
• Enrolled in an ABET-accredited program pursuing electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering.
• Reliable transportation and ability to commute to the assigned project site in person.
• Available to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer and up to 20 hours per week during the school year.
• Ability to apply engineering principles, solve problems in the field, and communicate professionally.

Nice to have

• GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
• At least two years of completed undergraduate coursework.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
