What you will do

  • Provide general nursing care and support efficient patient flow.
  • Administer prescribed medications, treatments, IV fluids, and IV therapeutic medications in accordance with nursing standards and the state nurse practice act.
  • Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
  • Monitor, record, and report patient conditions and reactions to medications and treatments.
  • Collect patient information, blood specimens, and test samples; perform EKG and oximetry readings as required.
  • Maintain patient files, records, prescriptions, telephone communications, and treatment instructions.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited practical nursing school.
  • Entry-level practical nursing experience; 0–3 years required.
  • Current LPN state license and registration with the State Board of Practical Nursing in the practicing state.
  • Current BCLS certification required within three months of hire.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, handle and lift patients, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work in an oncology and hematology clinic environment with exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medical preparations, and ionizing radiation.

  • Phlebotomy experience.
