Junior Full Stack Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote from South Africa, Gauteng

hirify.global is building digital infrastructure for grant funding, combining research across more than 18,000 funding programmes, AI-supported analysis and application drafting, expert review, and ongoing grant management in a scalable SaaS product.

What you will do

• Ship end-to-end product features across backend services and user interfaces.
• Work with React, Node/Express, Postgres, and AWS across the full stack.
• Help build the AI pipeline, including prompt engineering, context management, and AI evaluations.
• Investigate and fix production issues using Sentry, CloudWatch, and Postgres.
• Work with the CTO and grant team to build solutions based on real user problems.
• Progressively take ownership of complete features and increasingly complex technical problems.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of professional software engineering experience, or recent university graduation with strong technical projects.
• Solid programming fundamentals and practical experience with TypeScript and/or JavaScript.
• Curiosity and willingness to work across React, Node/Express, Postgres, and AWS.
• Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivation, ownership, and willingness to learn from feedback.
• German at B1 level or above is required; the product and customers are German-speaking.
• Ability to work remotely from South Africa, Gauteng.

Nice to have

• First experience with AI tools or LLM APIs through university, personal, or side projects.
• Experience using Claude Code or Cursor.
• A side project, open-source contribution, or other independently built work.
