Data Scientist, Market Making (iGaming)

Location: Hybrid role based in Jersey City, New Jersey, United States; occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required around major sporting events.

Salary: $98,000–$152,250 USD per year, dependent on experience, location, business needs, and market demand.

What you will do

• Develop, iterate, deploy, and monitor predictive models and algorithmic decision systems for automated pricing and market making.
• Partner with algorithmic traders, quant engineers, product, and engineering teams to refine models and strategy logic in production.
• Prepare sports, market, and operational data, including collection, cleaning, feature selection, and model selection.
• Build backtesting, simulation, dashboards, diagnostics, and monitoring tools for model calibration, execution quality, and risk-adjusted performance.
• Analyze post-event and post-trade results to improve pricing, automation, exposure management, and business performance.
• Contribute to production code, trading tools, operational controls, and feature validation.

Requirements

• Experience in data science, analytics, quantitative research, or engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in a highly numerate field such as mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, or engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python or R and SQL.
• Experience building and deploying models for production products and tools.
• Comfort with command-line tools, GitHub, object-oriented design, and coding.
• Flexible availability for occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the sporting calendar.

Nice to have

• Experience with simulation or backtesting.
• Interest or experience in sports betting, prediction markets, daily fantasy sports, or fantasy sports.
• Familiarity with pricing dynamics, market behavior, or real-time decision environments.
