Senior Director Corporate Counsel - Privacy/ Transactions

Location: Hybrid role based in Sleepy Hollow, New York or Cambridge, Massachusetts, with 4 days per week on site

What you will do

• Provide transactional legal support for research collaboration, master services, consulting, licensing, data use, laboratory services, and confidentiality agreements.
• Serve as a privacy law expert for the Transactions & Contracts team and advise colleagues on privacy requirements and policy developments.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize data privacy provisions in agreements with internal stakeholders and external parties.
• Maintain the data privacy contracting playbook and create related tools, training materials, and internal office hours.
• Act as liaison between the Transactions Law Group and the Data Privacy Office on privacy policies and contracting approaches.
• Provide strategic oversight of the contract lifecycle management system and manage the Associate Director, Contracts Systems and Operations.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree with excellent law school credentials.
• At least 15 years of legal experience in a law firm and/or in-house environment.
• Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, contracts involving data privacy, and intellectual property.
• Strong understanding of contracts and related law, with excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
• Admission to practice law in New York or eligibility for registration as in-house counsel is preferred.
• Leadership experience with contract management systems or a similar function is preferred.
