Security Operations Engineer (Healthcare)

Location: New York, NY; hybrid work schedule

Salary: $125,000–$150,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain security operations workflows, threat detection, and incident response procedures across corporate and cloud infrastructure.
• Build low-code and custom automations for security alerts, IT security tasks, and incident triage.
• Administer and optimize Sumo Logic, Jamf, Intune, Slack Enterprise, CrowdStrike, and related security and endpoint management platforms.
• Maintain SOC2 and HIPAA security controls, including audit preparation, evidence gathering, and control enforcement.
• Partner with IT and engineering teams to harden systems, enforce zero-trust endpoint policies, and secure employee workflows.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement preventative measures to eliminate recurring security risks.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Security Operations, IT Security, or security-focused System Administration.
• Experience detecting, investigating, and remediating security incidents in modern cloud or hybrid environments.
• Strong IT foundations covering macOS and Windows endpoint administration, identity management, and network security.
• Operational experience maintaining SOC2 and/or HIPAA controls.
• Hands-on experience with SOAR platforms, scripting in Python, PowerShell, or Bash, or API integrations.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing SOC2 or HIPAA controls from scratch or working directly with external auditors.
• Familiarity with Sumo Logic, Jamf, Intune, Slack Enterprise, CrowdStrike, and Torq.
• Security+, Network+, GIAC, or vendor-specific platform certifications.
