GRC Lead (AI)

Location: San Francisco, United States; on-site

Salary: $150,000–$250,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Build and own governance, risk, compliance, and customer trust programs.
• Lead SOC 2 Type 2 audits and support adoption of ISO 27001 and emerging AI governance standards.
• Manage customer security questionnaires, trust documentation, and enterprise due diligence.
• Develop security, governance, and corporate policies as business needs evolve.
• Evaluate security tooling and controls with Engineering and external security partners.
• Advise Legal, Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Go-to-Market teams on security and compliance.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in GRC, customer trust, security compliance, or a related field.
• Experience owning or supporting SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar compliance frameworks.
• Experience responding to customer security questionnaires and supporting enterprise security reviews.
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to business and customer audiences.
• Hands-on approach with the ability to drive projects independently from concept to execution.
• Experience collaborating with Legal, Security, Engineering, and Go-to-Market teams.

Nice to have

• Experience building or scaling a GRC, compliance, or customer trust function at a startup.
• Familiarity with AI governance, AI risk management, or emerging AI compliance frameworks.
• Experience supporting UK or European compliance requirements.
• Experience evaluating device management, endpoint protection, or data loss prevention tools.
