Android Engineer (Kotlin/Java)

Location: Remote, with preference for McLean, VA; Chicago, IL; or New York, NY

Pay rate: $95/hour, W-2 only

What you will do

• Develop, enhance, and maintain Android mobile applications using modern development practices.
• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
• Collaborate with developers, technical leads, business partners, and cross-functional Agile teams.
• Troubleshoot, debug, test, deploy, and support mobile applications in production.
• Provide development support across multiple teams and projects as business priorities change.
• Learn new applications and technologies quickly while contributing with minimal ramp-up time.

Requirements

• Hands-on Android application development experience.
• Strong Kotlin and/or Java development experience and experience with the Android SDK.
• Experience developing and supporting mobile user interfaces and integrating REST APIs and web services.
• Strong understanding of mobile application architecture and Android development best practices.
• Experience with Git or another version control system and Agile development environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and adaptability skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Jetpack, Jetpack Compose, Android Studio, MVVM, or other modern Android architecture patterns.
• Experience with Kotlin Coroutines, Retrofit, or OkHttp.
• Experience with unit and UI testing and CI/CD tools.
• Experience in large-scale enterprise technology environments.
