Senior Android Engineer (Kotlin)

What you will do

• Build and own the native Android foundation using Kotlin, the Android SDK, and modern Android architecture.
• Design the app shell, navigation, lifecycle handling, session management, permissions, push notifications, deep links, and release workflows.
• Create integration points for native Android, React Native, Flutter, and WebView-based product modules.
• Improve app reliability, responsiveness, maintainability, crash reduction, and production quality across real-world devices.
• Build observability and debugging workflows for crashes, app health, release quality, and user-impacting issues.
• Define patterns for native modules, cross-stack communication, testing, CI/CD, staged rollouts, and release automation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional Android engineering experience with strong Kotlin, Android SDK, and production app development skills.
• Experience owning major parts of a consumer-facing Android app and leading or helping lead a mobile app from 0 to 1.
• Strong understanding of Android architecture, app lifecycle, navigation, concurrency, networking, persistence, dependency management, and modularization.
• Experience building mobile UI with Jetpack Compose and/or the traditional Android View system.
• Ability to make independent architecture decisions, explain technical tradeoffs, and drive work end-to-end.
• Ability to collaborate with Product, Design, Backend, Mobile, and Growth teams in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with React Native native modules, bridges, hybrid architecture, Flutter, or WebView integrations.
• Experience with Android performance profiling, startup optimization, memory management, UI responsiveness, and app health monitoring.
• Experience with Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry, Datadog, Amplitude, GA4, or similar observability and analytics tools.
• Experience with feed-based, social, entertainment, creator, gaming, UGC, marketplace, or other high-engagement consumer products.
• Experience using AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or GitHub Copilot.
