Senior Consultant Grant Specialist

Location: Alexandria, Virginia, United States. Work location may change based on client requirements; travel up to 25% is required. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Salary: $103,000–$180,000 annually, plus potential bonuses and benefits.

What you will do

• Perform accounting, analytical, audit, and fieldwork activities for client engagements.
• Provide grant oversight support and manage the grant lifecycle from pre-award through closeout.
• Conduct internal controls reviews, attribute testing, risk assessments, and audit resolution activities.
• Reconcile grant accounts and assess whether costs are allowable, allocable, and reasonable.
• Review grant applications, budgets, supporting documentation, and federal grant compliance requirements.
• Draft findings, reports, project deliverables, and other client-facing materials.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of relevant experience, including 1 year in a leadership role.
• BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university.
• Expertise in Single Audits and strong knowledge of 2 CFR 200 and agency-specific grant requirements.
• Experience across the full grants lifecycle, including pre-award, administration, and closeout.
• Proficiency with grant management systems and Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Nice to have

• Certified Grants Management Specialist or CGMS certification.
• Experience with education grants and multiple federal, state, and local funding streams.
• Experience performing work throughout the grants lifecycle.
