Sr. R&D Manager (Embedded Systems): Leading electrical, firmware, and mechanical engineering teams developing and sustaining compliant medical-device hardware with an accent on electromechanical integration, design controls, and cross-functional delivery. Focus on building high-performing multidisciplinary teams, driving products from concept through commercialization, and solving complex quality, reliability, and manufacturability challenges.

Location: Bellevue, Washington, United States; hybrid workplace with a required minimum number of days onsite.

Salary: $152,000–$209,000 annually, plus potential discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

  • Lead, mentor, and develop Electrical Engineering, Firmware, and Mechanical Engineering teams.
  • Direct new product development and sustaining engineering for medical devices from concept through commercialization.
  • Guide electrical, firmware, mechanical, and electromechanical system design, including design for manufacturability, reliability, and serviceability.
  • Review user needs, system requirements, design outputs, and verification and validation plans.
  • Ensure compliance with hirify.global’s Quality Management System, design controls, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Software, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, Supply Chain, and Marketing teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of product development experience involving electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical hardware systems.
  • 2+ years of engineering leadership experience managing multidisciplinary hardware development teams.
  • Experience developing connected, embedded, or medical-device hardware in a regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of design controls, requirements and risk management, verification and validation, and product lifecycle management.
  • Experience with FDA Quality System Regulation, ISO 13485, and ISO 14971; applicants must already be authorized to work for any U.S. employer.
