Packaging Structural Design Intern

Location: Brampton, Ontario, Canada; based at the Menasha Packaging site. Primarily office-based, with occasional work in production or warehouse settings.

Expected compensation: CAD 25 per hour.

What you will do

• Cut and assemble samples for design reviews.
• Develop assembly instructions for new packaging products.
• Create pallet patterns to support efficient shipping.
• Build mock-ups to visualize packaging and display concepts.
• Assist with preparing displays for ship testing and support day-to-day design activities.
• Follow food safety, quality, HACCP, and GMP standards while completing administrative and other assigned tasks.

Requirements

• Enrolled in the final year of a packaging or industrial design-related program at an accredited college or university.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, take direction, and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong verbal and written communication, time management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.

Nice to have

• Experience with 2D and 3D design platforms.
• Self-motivated, proactive approach and interest in the packaging industry.
