TL;DR
Data Engineer II (Sports): Building and maintaining scalable data pipelines, integrations, models, and warehouse structures for GolfNow and the Sports Next ecosystem with an accent on AWS, Microsoft technologies, analytics, reporting, and product data solutions. Focus on designing reliable ETL/ELT workflows, troubleshooting data-quality and performance issues, and improving governance, testing, and operational standards.
Location: Fully remote in the United States, with approximately 10% intentional in-person collaboration; an in-person interview may be required before hiring.

What you will do
- Design, build, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines and integrations across AWS and Microsoft technologies.
- Develop data models and warehouse structures for analytics, reporting, product insights, and business intelligence.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows, investigate root causes, and improve data quality, reliability, and performance.
- Translate business and technical requirements into data solutions in collaboration with engineering, product, analytics, and business teams.
- Contribute to data governance, testing, documentation, and operational standards across the data lifecycle.
- Participate in technical design discussions and evaluate tools, frameworks, and engineering practices.
Requirements
- Professional experience in data engineering or a related technical discipline, including cloud-based data pipelines.
- Strong SQL and Python skills with experience developing ETL/ELT workflows and handling structured and semi-structured data.
- Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, pipeline orchestration, and modern data engineering practices.
- Experience with AWS Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, or comparable cloud data services.
- Familiarity with Airflow and Terraform.
- Ability to troubleshoot pipeline issues independently and collaborate on complex technical decisions.
Nice to have
- Experience with SSIS, PowerShell, or SSRS.
- Familiarity with Tableau or Power BI.
- Experience with Agile development, Jira, or Confluence.
