Clinical Development Director, Early Development – Inflammation/Rare Disease

Salary: $274,788.85–$371,773.15 per year

What you will do

• Lead early-phase clinical development of compounds from first-in-human studies through proof-of-concept.
• Design and implement clinical development strategies for inflammation, general medicine, and rare disease candidates.
• Prepare clinical development plans, study protocols, informed consents, Investigator Brochures, and regulatory submissions.
• Review clinical safety, efficacy, pharmacodynamic, and pharmacokinetic data and support monitoring and analysis.
• Develop clinical biomarker strategies and collaborate with research, clinical pharmacology, operations, regulatory, safety, and commercial functions.
• Provide biomedical expertise and strategic guidance to early development teams and external experts.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• At least 2 years of industry, academic, basic science, or clinical development experience.
• Experience with clinical trial methodology, trial design, monitoring, implementation, and interpretation of results.
• Understanding of inflammatory, general medicine, and/or rare diseases.
• Leadership, collaboration, decision-making, and communication skills in matrix environments.
• Experience preparing clinical development materials and regulatory submissions.

Nice to have

• Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or a relevant subspecialty.
• Residency training in Internal Medicine and a relevant subspecialty.
• At least 3 years of relevant pharmaceutical or academic drug development experience, preferably in early-stage clinical trials.
• Publication track record and experience collaborating with pharmaceutical sponsors.
