Application Architect

Location: Remote from the United States; occasional travel may be required for meetings, collaboration, or team-building activities. Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Salary: $120,000–$135,000 annually, with annual bonus potential based on performance.

What you will do

• Provide senior technical leadership across project teams.
• Translate business strategy and customer needs into technology solutions aligned with enterprise IT plans.
• Design, develop, implement, and support complex mainframe and distributed information systems.
• Architect and integrate new systems and define technical and functional application requirements.
• Approve system designs, support security audit controls, and contribute to budget and financial planning.
• Develop design specifications and technical architecture solutions for large-scale projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with complex application design, systems integration, database design, structured analysis, programming, and testing.
• Experience providing technical leadership and integrating new solutions with existing applications.
• Knowledge of COBOL or COBOL II, MVS, Windows, UNIX, Oracle, IMS DB, DB2, or SQL Server.
• Knowledge of IMS DC, CICS, JAD/RAD techniques, enterprise data and process modeling, technology standards, and security controls.
• Understanding of at least one business process, mission-critical application system, or strategic technology area.

Nice to have

• Experience developing or maintaining mobile applications or websites.
• Experience designing, implementing, or supporting DB2 databases on UNIX, AIX, or Linux.
• Experience with DB2 9.7 or later in 24x7 production environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business Administration, or a related technology certification.
