Test Software Development Engineer (Optical Photonics)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test software for new product introduction using VB.NET, C#, Python, or similar object-oriented languages.
• Build and maintain test frameworks, libraries, and tools to improve development efficiency.
• Automate test equipment and instrument control for hardware quality, reliability, and performance validation.
• Debug software issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Perform unit, integration, system-level, verification, and validation testing.
• Participate in design and code reviews and evaluate new test technologies and methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
• At least 2 years of experience in test software development, preferably in manufacturing or R&D.
• Strong programming skills in VB.NET, C#, Python, and SQL.
• Experience with test equipment automation, instrument control, and communication protocols such as SCADA, PLC, GPIB, USB, Ethernet, and RS-232.
• Experience with Agile or Scrum software development methodologies and strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Written and verbal English communication skills are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI tools.
• Knowledge of optical and photonic components, systems, or test methodologies.
