Automation & Quality Specialist (Backend API)

Location: Copenhagen, Denmark; hybrid working

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for backend services and APIs.
• Create and execute API automation tests using Playwright.
• Automate authentication and security flows involving OAuth, JWT, and API keys.
• Validate RESTful and SOAP APIs for functionality, performance, and JSON/XML schema integrity.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
• Analyze defects, prepare test documentation, and conduct regression, smoke, and integration testing.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in backend and API testing.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright and automation scripting in JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, headers, status codes, and Git.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum, Jira, and test management tools such as Xray, HP ALM, or PractiTest.
• Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid role based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Nice to have

• Experience with JMeter or K6 for performance testing.
• ISTQB Foundation Certification.
• Experience with e-commerce platform architectures.
