Staff MCU Application Engineer (Embedded C/C++)

Location: Taipei, Taiwan; remote work is not available.

What you will do

• Provide technical application support to customers using MCU products.
• Develop, debug, and optimize embedded firmware in C/C++ for bare-metal and RTOS environments.
• Build proof-of-concept solutions to demonstrate MCU capabilities.
• Determine customer requirements and recommend suitable products and solutions.
• Support design-ins and customer escalations with FAE, marketing, and business-unit engineering teams.
• Provide technical guidance and training while contributing insights to the MCU product roadmap.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 8+ years of professional experience in embedded systems.
• Strong embedded MCU firmware development experience with C/C++.
• Understanding of CPU architecture, electronic circuits, MCU peripherals, and communication protocols.
• Good English communication skills and strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to engage with customers primarily in Taiwan and collaborate with internal stakeholders across APAC.

Nice to have

• Experience with RTOS platforms such as FreeRTOS or Azure RTOS.
• Knowledge of UART, SPI, I²C, PMBus, CAN, and Ethernet.
• Experience with IoT connectivity, server protocols, or security applications.
• Prior application engineering, field application engineering, or customer-facing engineering experience.
