Senior Cyber Security Engineer (Automation)

Location: Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, United States; external candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview at a hirify.global Media location.

Salary: USD 130,000–160,000 yearly

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate reusable Python services, libraries, CLIs, and integrations for security controls and operational workflows.
• Develop secure GitHub Actions and DevSecOps patterns covering CI/CD controls, OIDC-based cloud access, permissions, secrets, artifacts, and policy checks.
• Create Terraform modules, guardrails, and policy-as-code controls for secure AWS environments.
• Automate AWS security across IAM, networking, logging, encryption, serverless, containers, and related services.
• Build governed internal AI automations and agents with scoped tools, validation, prompt-injection defenses, audit logging, evaluations, and human approvals.
• Set technical direction, lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and partner with platform, cloud, SOC, and application teams.

Requirements

• Strong Python software engineering skills, including API integration, testing, packaging, error handling, and production troubleshooting.
• Hands-on expertise with GitHub and GitHub Actions, including reusable workflows, OIDC, permissions, secure secrets use, and CI/CD controls.
• Strong Terraform experience with modules, state, plans, code review, testing, and policy or guardrail implementation.
• Deep practical understanding of AWS security and cloud architecture, including IAM, network boundaries, logging, encryption, and serverless or container services.
• Experience designing reliable, observable, least-privileged automation and leading cross-team technical work.
• Working knowledge of AI/LLM application risks and controls for safe agentic automation.

Nice to have

• Experience with security orchestration, SIEM/SOAR, detection engineering, incident response, or vulnerability-management automation.
• Experience with policy-as-code and tools such as OPA, Checkov, tfsec, Trivy, AWS Config, Security Hub, or GuardDuty.
• Experience delivering LLM APIs, agent frameworks, MCP, RAG, evaluation frameworks, or enterprise AI platforms.
• AWS or security certifications such as AWS Security Specialty, AWS DevOps Engineer, CISSP, or Security+.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS.
