Senior Database Reliability Engineer (PostgreSQL, Terraform, AWS)

What you will do

• Provision, configure, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL and MySQL instances across AWS RDS and on-premises environments.
• Design automated failover, replication, load balancing, and DNS strategies for high availability.
• Write and maintain Terraform infrastructure code and Ansible playbooks for database deployments, configuration changes, and patching.
• Monitor and tune database performance with Prometheus and Grafana, responding to operational incidents through an on-call rotation.
• Plan and execute upgrades and migrations across PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redshift, ClickHouse, DynamoDB, and other database engines.
• Manage backup, recovery, security hardening, documentation, and disaster recovery testing.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or Database Engineer.
• Production experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL, including high-availability solutions, failover, replication, load balancing, and DNS management.
• Hands-on Terraform experience and working knowledge of Ansible.
• Strong Linux system administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or comparable monitoring tools, plus Bash or Python scripting.
• Understanding of CI/CD workflows and database change management in regulated financial services, including access control, encryption, and audit trails.

Nice to have

• Production experience with ClickHouse, Redshift, MongoDB, or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for database workloads.
• Financial-services audit experience or an AWS certification.
