TL;DR
Sr. Infrastructure Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes): Building and scaling highly available, fault-tolerant infrastructure for distributed systems and global payments infrastructure with an accent on reliability engineering, observability, automation, and cloud-native architecture. Focus on leading incident response, designing automated monitoring and healing systems, optimizing performance and capacity, and strengthening disaster recovery and production resilience.
Location: Remote from Greece

What you will do
- Architect and scale highly available, fault-tolerant infrastructure for distributed systems and the global platform.
- Participate in on-call rotations, lead incident response and root cause analysis, and improve production resilience.
- Build monitoring, alerting, automated healing, and other systems that reduce operational toil and downtime.
- Identify bottlenecks, tune systems, and develop capacity and scaling strategies for growing workloads.
- Partner with software engineers and platform teams to improve deployment practices, performance testing, automation, and SRE principles.
- Mentor engineers, shape infrastructure strategy, and establish scalable technical standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in infrastructure or SRE roles supporting complex, large-scale production environments.
- Deep AWS experience and hands-on expertise with Terraform and infrastructure as code.
- Strong experience with Linux, Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, cloud-native architecture, CI/CD, GitOps, APIs, authentication and authorization, Kafka/MSK, and AWS services.
- Ability to automate infrastructure with Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages.
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, incident management, and disaster recovery.
- Clear communication, cross-functional collaboration, reliability ownership, and mentoring skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with tokenization, payment processing, cryptology, or security products.
- Experience with CloudFormation, CDK, or similar infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Production database operations and scaling experience.
- BA/BS degree and experience in a fast-paced startup environment.
