Embedded Cybersecurity Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Eagan, Minnesota, with on-site work required at least 3 days per week. Travel may include up to 10% domestic and international travel. Relocation assistance may be authorized.

Salary: $124,000–$170,500 per year, including base pay and variable incentive pay if eligible.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain new and legacy embedded software for medical devices, MDDS systems, and native phone applications.
• Integrate cybersecurity into embedded real-time software for electromechanical devices throughout the product lifecycle.
• Perform vulnerability mitigation, threat analysis, secure coding, code reviews, and security-focused testing.
• Derive technical specifications from product requirements and contribute to project plans and development schedules.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support compliant and effective product development.
• Mentor engineers and provide cybersecurity support to manufacturing, quality, and operations groups.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher and at least 8 years of combined industry experience in embedded software development or product design in a regulated industry, or a high school diploma/GED and 12 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with medical device development and FDA- or ISO-registered work environments.
• Hands-on experience with C or C++ in embedded systems.
• Experience with embedded cybersecurity, including cryptography, PKI, secure boot, firmware security, and threat modeling.
• Experience developing and debugging ARM-based processors, including Cortex-M0, Cortex-M4, and Cortex-A series, plus USB, UART, I2C, and SPI interfaces.
• Experience with RTOS platforms such as VxWorks, ThreadX, or FreeRTOS, and/or embedded Linux architecture and design. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.

• Experience with graphical user interface development.
• Experience with cellular, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or GPS technologies.
