News Photographer

Location: Houston, TX; 100% onsite

What you will do

• Shoot and edit assigned, breaking-news, and special-assignment stories using ENG cameras and non-linear editing equipment.
• Provide photos and short videos for social media platforms.
• Set up and operate microwave ENG trucks and LiveU equipment from field locations.
• Operate and maintain news vehicles and broadcast equipment safely.
• Perform routine maintenance and light troubleshooting on assigned equipment.
• Collaborate with reporters, photographers, producers, assignment desk editors, engineers, production staff, officials, and the public.

Requirements

• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required.
• At least two years of experience as a news photographer in television news or a similar environment.
• Strong storytelling, problem-solving, multitasking, and communication skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Must be willing to work from the Houston office and hold a Texas driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States required.
• High school diploma required; a degree or technical training in journalism, radio/television, production/ENG, or a related field is preferred. Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds and work outdoors in inclement weather required.
